Find the “GOOD”! in your child with ADHD

Could the arguments and miscommunications with your child with ADHD be resolved by implementing only 5 easy-to-remember steps? Yes! Dr. Saline has combined her 30+ years of experience with the most common themes from kids with ADHD and their parents.
Over the years, Dr. Saline noticed a pattern: the kids and the parents were each describing different scenarios at home. Her 5Cs are designed to help families work collaboratively and balance expectations.
These trends included the difficulties managing emotions, creating plans all members can be excited by, encouragement, feeling heard and understood, tackling tough subjects and so much more.
In this video, Dr. Saline identifies the top 5 family conflicts and offers corresponding, quick-to-implement strategies to help you and your child stop an escalation in its tracks, listen to the other’s point of view, and develop creative and loving resolutions.
Meet your child where they are, not where you wish they were.

Managing technology is an increasing challenge for all members of the family. Did you know we touch our phones 52 times a day? Social media, music, games, social media, tv, chats and more are here to stay. So how does this impact us?
Dr. Saline suggests several approaches to helping with the technology struggle and lays out specific wording as you collaboratively create responsible digital citizens who can connect and disconnect reliably and cooperatively.

  • How to guide your children as they navigate daily screen usage and screen switching,
  • When you can suggest screen usage to your children for your own benefit,
  • How much supervising is adequate and how to monitor their safety and connections.
Technology is a privilege — not a right. Additional time with screens or with family and friends can and should be earned.

Avoiding The Homework Hassle

Video + Handout

Homework challenges are one of the top 3 problems parents share with me.

There are arguments about the time it takes, the interruptions, push backs, etc. The kids dread homework because they are tired of spending the day learning about things they could care less about.

Dr. Saline shares advice on medication and/or lack of after the school day, organizational challenges, academic complexities, learning demands, executive function skills challenges, emotion and impulse control, prioritizing, multitasking, screen usage, parents’ role, rewards and so much more.

Homework requires all of the above skills, and when a student spent the whole day at school find it challenging to do more of it.

Dr. Saline suggests several approaches to helping with the homework struggle, using her unique 5 Cs approach, that has helped other parents support students with ADHD. She offers questions to ask your child that will yield results and involve their buy-in. Advice on improving consistency, schedules, routines, transitions, homework submission, insight into their brains and so much more make this guided parenting program invaluable for most parents.
