This webinar is an opportunity for you to learn more effective ways to help them manage their homework and school responsibilities with fewer arguments and more independence while thriving with ADHD!Sometimes families get stuck in the rut of dealing with homework. With the beginning of a new school year, you now have the opportunity to change old habits related to homework and create new ones that reduce conflict and increase collaboration.In this next session of Dr. Sharon Saline’s ‘Building Better Brains’ Webinar Series, she will assist you in dealing with meltdowns, frustration, perfectionism and avoidance techniques that often accompany homework for neurodivergent learners. Using her 5C’s approach you will leave this webinar with an action plan for homework cooperation and accomplishment with your tween or teen to start this year off strong!
Learning Objectives:
- Apply the 5C’s approach to decrease family reactivity and improve empathic connections
- Create an incentive-based, collaborative plan for doing homework that works for everybody
- Increase sustained attention and manage different types of focus during study periods
- Reduce anxiety related to perfectionism and procrastination
- Help your child better understand how their brain works and apply those insights to their academics
- Effective, practical strategies for strengthening executive functioning skills related to academics and fostering appropriate levels of independence for middle and high school students.
