Topics

Dr. Saline is a seasoned and engaging speaker who has presented to groups of students, parents, educators and clinicians, nationally and internationally for over 25 years.

As an expert on children, teens and families, Dr. Saline covers timely subjects such as ADHD, the developing brain, executive functioning skills, managing technology in families and common parenting challenges. She combines her unique skill set of clinical experience with knowledge of human development, brain science and behavior into every presentation and workshop.

Dr. Saline prepares each presentation to ensure that the latest information and concepts are included and that each participant leaves with tools to implement immediately. Incorporating experiential exercises and insightful examples, along with a background in theater and cabaret performance, she makes topics like attention, organization, executive functioning and adolescence interesting, relatable and even funny.

“You did a great job mixing a lot of research/data with very practical strategies that teachers can go back and use right away.  This balance is something that not every facilitator or expert can do, so I appreciate the thought and purpose you put into planning the agenda.”

Praise: Workshops for Parents

“When I left Sharon’s workshop, I felt she had been an observer of the dynamics in my own home. She really connects to the challenges faced by both the teen and the parent and makes you laugh, think and even release that knot in your shoulders. Her skills as a therapist really showed.”

“Dr. Saline’s talk on ADHD was very insightful and helpful for me on many levels.  As a parent it really helped me understand what my daughter is going through and how to approach things with her in a different way then I had to with my older daughter.  I found the real life examples from her patients very helpful because they explained what it is like to live with ADHD from their perspective.  It can be hard for those of us who don’t suffer from this to really understand how this affects them in school as well as their daily lives.  She offered some great tips on how to break things down for the kids to help them be successful in all aspects of life.

To be honest, I haven’t stopped talking about what I learned last night.  It has given me so much to think about.  In addition to the presentation, I think it would be really helpful to have a workshop where we could role play.

I would highly recommend that teachers, TA’s and anyone who works with children that have ADHD in the school system attend one of her talks.  I don’t think people understand how challenging tasks can be for these children and how hard they have to work to get things done.”

Praise: Workshops for Educators

“Working with Dr. Saline was so worthwhile for all of us in Northampton schools. Dr. Saline has a deep insight into the challenges facing children and families when there are struggles in school and a wonderfully compassionate and direct approach in facilitating successful interventions. Always available to the faculty, she offered a range of trainings and professional development experiences that improved our response to mental health issues for children and adolescents. Teachers appreciated her expertise, clarity, and sense of humor. They took away many specific strategies and plans that were immediately useful.  We are so fortunate to have her as a local resource.”

Praise: Clinical Presentations

“I would highly recommend Dr. Sharon Saline as a speaker. She presented to our clinical staff on the topic of ADHD and disorders of executive functioning. She was well-organized and demonstrated a breadth of knowledge about her topics. While she conveyed confidence in her work, she did not present herself as sole expert. Instead, she presented with collegiality, encouraging us to interact with her, ask questions and make suggestions.”
